SCIENCE FAIR EXPERIMENT PLANNING

Mrs. Sulkin

You have 8 weeks to prepare your Science Fair experiment. Below is a calendar to help you organize your time. It should be turned in with parent's signature by the due date near the end of September. The steps you should go through are:

  1. Identify a question to be answered by an experiment
  2. Design a controlled scientific experiment
  3. Research your topic: Become an expert, take notes, keep track of your resources
  4. Reevaluate your experiment: You may change your mind as you learn more about your topic and find out what will and what will not work
  5. Collect necessary equipment for your experiment
  6. Conduct your experiment
  7. Write your experimental report
  8. Prepare your display with experimental report, facts, pictures, experiment, and personal experience paper
  9. Set up your display for the Science Fair

On the calendar write in when you expect to do these steps. Add any other important steps that have not been listed here. It is extremely important that you do not leave this project until the last minute. Doing so will cause you and your family great frustration and it will be very difficult to do a good job
