Sonja Moon teaches social studies, language arts and reading. Sonja knows Whatcom well having taught here for the last 32 years.
I grew up in Seattle, and came to Bellingham to attend Western. After graduation, I worked at Western for two years.
I started working at Whatcom in 1973; my teaching assignments have included 6 th grade core, reading improvement, health, and 8 th grade core. Along, the way, I have become quite familiar with Whatcom’s history – I really love this old place!
I used to be Miss Stjern, in case you know someone who went to school here years ago. My husband and I now live in the county. My husband’s two kids are grown and on their own; we also have a son-in-law and two wonderful grandkids. We have one horse, two dogs, and a large vegetable garden, so we never run out of things to do.
This year is going to be an outstanding one. We have a terrific team, talented kids, and no limit to the things we can accomplish!
