WHATCOM REVIEWS - Write a book review and submit it to Mrs. Jewett. After it has been posted students may add comments. (A comment must be approved before it will be posted, so please be sure to use appropriate language.) |
The Whatcom Middle School library is located on the third or top floor of the school. It is staffed by Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Penny Jewett, and Library Media Assistant, Mrs. Aileen Walton.
The library is open every school day from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. (The exception is two Mondays a month when there are district library meetings to attend.) These are usually the first and third Mondays of the month, but holidays and special events can change the schedule. The library is also closed on early release afternoons which are scheduled on the school calendar.
Our library includes a lab of 31 computers and a collection of about 12,000 books. During the school day students may come to the library to conduct research, work on assignments, read, check out books. Student use before school, and during lunch includes the use of student e-mail. Remember to sign up at the checkout when you need to use a computer.
Books may be checked out for two weeks. After two weeks, unless renewed, a book is considered overdue and you will not be allowed to check out additional books until the book is returned or the fine paid if the book has been lost or damaged.
